Jura is one of the least well known but
largest of the Hebridean Isles. Only
a fraction of the island is populated (the ratio speaks for itself-less than
200 people to more than 150 square miles) leaving the majority as unspoilt,
rugged, landscape. The coastline
features some spectacular raised beaches, caves, arches, cliffs and the
occasional sandy beach. Inland the
landscape is dominated by the 3 Paps, the view from the top of which will be
well worth it if you can manage the quite arduous climb. Obviously these conditions provide a haven
for all sorts of wildlife. |
