Jura house was built by the Campbell’s
on the island in the early 18oo’s. It
is the principal house on the Ardfin Estate, which covers a large portion of
southern Jura. While being grand and
luxurious the house remains warm and friendly. To view pictures of the interior click here. The immediate surroundings are as
beautiful as the house. Facing South
on the coast the house has amazing views across the sea to neighbouring
Islay, the Mull of Kintyre and, on a clear day, all the way to Ireland. The surrounding woods give plenty of
opportunity for short walks(an hour ish) or exploring. Directly below the house (5 min walk but
quite a steep climb) you will find a beautiful beach, ideal for barbeques,
sunbathing, swimming and just general relaxing. For pictures of all of the above see our Tour the Area page. |
